About Nicky Pessi Damania:

Nicky P. Damania is a first generation born in America. Born in Houston, Texas, but grew up in Aurora, Colorado. His family heritage is from Mumbai, India. His parents moved to USA after they were married due to his father’s job. Went to Polton Elementary School, a predominately white elementary, and ended up in Overland High School, one of the most diverse high schools in the Cheery Creek School district. Highly active in theatre and choir, he graduated in June of 2000 in a class of about 500 students with a 3.89 GPA. He attends Colorado College, Colorado Springs, Colorado, about an hour and half away from home. The day he stepped foot on the college’s campus, he fell in love with the spirit of the college. Proudly graduates from Colorado College on May 17, 2004 in a class of 495 with a GPA of 3.75 coincidentally the same day the first same-sex marriages were recognized in the state of Massachusetts. Now he is currently a master’s student at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Philosophy Statement of Student Affairs:

Progress in our society is earned and learned when invested with a deep passion. Once the flame of our passion touches our hearts, that passion will burn in our hearts for eternity. Individuals discover their passion best when they are challenged by real-life problems. My philosophy of student affairs is supported by five pillars of commitment that I hold myself to when dealing with my students. As a part of higher education institutions in America, my ambition is to help students work and live productively together in our ever-changing global society, while understanding and appreciating diversity and equality amongst all individuals and even within themselves. My strong stance in my philosophy of student affairs for identity development and self-growth in each citizen will allow my passion to help my students achieve their desires in life as they progress into the future.
